Once again I’ve been MIA for a bit and a lot has been going on since I last posted. My birthday has come and gone (holy crap I’m in my late 20s now!), I had an amazing vacay in Malaysia catching up with family and friends and I recently went to Melbourne for a quick getaway with the bestie, Emma!
Today’s post is a quick OOTD post of what I wore one of the days there. Firstly Melbourne is notorious for its unpredictable weather so packing required a lot of versatile outfits that could be layered up for warmth or dressed down when it got hot. Here’s my OOTD for our second day there when the weather got “warmer”:
Yeap I’m wearing overalls which I haven’t done since I was 8! Half the time I was tempted to say “It’s a me, MARIO!” out loud to Emma as we explored Hosier Lane. I don’t think Em would have appreciated it though!
So my look is made up of overalls from Dotti which really was a good find cause I love fitted overalls. The only problem is as I’m quite petite and short-ish I normally find overalls that are either of a loose, relaxed fit (not the type I had in mind) or they are fitted but just way too long on me! Dotti’s got my back though (and the backs of other shorties like me) cause these overalls were exactly what I was looking for.
To layer it up I wore my usual Heat Tech thermals from Uniqlo and a super soft embroidered sweater from H&M. I paired the look with some super comfy ankle boots from Primark and some thick socks to keep warm.
Also that photo above has major throwback vibes as I took the same photo the last time I was in Melbs in 2016 and 2001!
On a random note you may have noticed my hair has changed since my last post in March! It’s currently blorange however this is the toned down version of what I originally had. In late March I was lucky to be cast as one of the hair and runway models for the Matrix Playground tour Australia. This gave me the opportunity to work with some of the most renowned, award winning Australian stylists and colourists such as Kobi Bokshish, Stevie English, Adam Ciaccia and Mat Johnson to just name a few!
I volunteered to be one of the models with a “vivid” coloured makeover (cause why not? Life’s too short to not take chances and live it up) and here’s the final product. Safe to say I had no regrets with this decision, just heaps of fun!
I have to say even though the colours are a bit “out there” for most people, HOW BEAUTIFUL IS THAT COLOUR MELT?!? I have to say a big thank you to Jovanna from Jovanna’s Hair Studio and Stevie for working their magic with my big head of hair!
Kobi then worked his magic on stage in front of a live audience and gave me a super chic bob with an undercut. If you asked me to do something like this years ago I probably would have politely declined and laughed it off saying stuff like “Oh I don’t have the guts to do it.” but things change and you grow in more ways than one. You find the courage within to take more risks and it pays off in experience – meeting new model friends, photographers, getting amazing makeovers and just having heaps of fun in the process whilst learning about the industry.
Anyway its been a few months since then and the red has washed out to be a blorange. The only thing I changed was getting my yellow roots covered up with a more natural colour (as black regrowth on yellow hair is not pretty) but other than that nothing’s been done to it as of yet. I’ll have to wait and see what I choose to do next! Till next time then lovelies and thanks for reading!
